Wampa cushion and keyring

I had a satin red cushion I got as a part of a set for a christmas present a few years ago. I didn't have the heart to chuck it out but certainly wasn't going to use the ugly thing. So, I cut off the cover and here's a kawaii wampa cushion for you.

And just because, here's a severed wampa hand keyring! (Gosh, aren't my nails long here?)

Moustaches and snowflakes

Here's a random selection of little things I've made recently.

Moustache cookies on sticks for Movember!
(I forgot to take pictures of other people eating them so you'll have to make do with my ugly mug.)
I provided both left and right handed moustache cookies, you will notice.

Snowflakes for the Dev

Tie fighter
Boba

It may not shock you to learn that this one wasn't from a template, I made it myself. Supposed to be batman but his head looks more like a cat

A keyring that ended up looking like the cookie monster.

Felt Fob Friday - A power up star and some fluff

Someone on the internet pointed out real life should be like Mario, you get power up stars when you need them the most and when you are doing really well and winning at life they are few and far between. Sadly this is not how it happens.

The keyring didn't seem worthy enough to be a post on its own, so here's a purple fluffy keyring I made - it is terribly cute. The material is from some left overs from the mome rath outfit. He's got a little bobble nose!

Speaking of which I have finally got round to taking a photo of that. I did have a sign that I hung round my neck saying don't step on the mome raths in flowery writing, but that is down the pub now, so just imagine me wearing it.
Best news about this is that now I feel I can justify taking this outfit apart and reusing the material for all sorts of fun things. Perhaps more dragons and cthulhus may be in the mix!

For anyone not sure these are the mome raths. Obviously I went for a rough feel, rather than spot on representation of them. The most important part of the costume was my outgrabing.

The fur on the hood of this bad boy is 15cm long! It is so soft and floompfy. I wanted to show you how it sways and ripples at every movement, very much like long grass dancing on the breeze. It really is quite lovely.
This video ... really doesn't do it justice. I probably should have been slower and more gentle in my movement. It makes me laugh though.

Felt Fob Friday - Fox

Something I learned while making this smug little fox: in Japanese folk tales, leaves are important things for foxes. When a fox puts a leaf on the head and does a somersault, he can transform into anything. Upon learning this I meant to give him a little leaf on his head but I forgot.

And, in honour of shark week (aw, who am I kidding? In honour of Sharknado week, about which everyone at work has been terribly excited):
He looks a bit more like a whale, but you goes with the material at hand. This took under half an hour to make, so if I had the fleece and the inclination I would make a dozen of them and have a sharknado mobile..

Felt Fob Friday - Owl

Here's a little keyring I made while waiting for the Ocado delivery man. Owls are very 'in' at the moment, so I am trendy.

And if you need closure on the Ocado delivery story, the guy never came. Turns out I was 15 days too early. Oops.

Felt Fob Friday - guinea pig

Sorry, I know I promised you a post with the exciting big things I'd been working on, but my stupid camera deleted all the photos I took. Which is annoying but I'll not lose any sleep. So instead, you get a guinea pig keyring. Kind of just looks like a blob of fur, but now I think about it, that is what guinea pigs really look like. Fur with built in wheek! wheek! wheek! sounds.

I know better than to make promises for future posts, but I will just say that shark week is approaching and inspiring me a little.

Felt Fob Friday - cupcake

A little bit of sweet for today in the form of a pink frosted cupcake, with sprinkles and a cherry on top. Nom nom..
You very possibly can't see, but trust me that this is a keyring - it has the fob at the base of the cupcake.

Can't promise but there may be some exciting bigger things on here over the next week or so. Watch this space!

Felt Fob Friday - K9

This was supposed to be posted yesterday but it has taken me this long to work out how to post photos on blogger from this computer. It proved to be harder than expected.

I was planning to give K9 a neck, but that sort of thing usually makes the head wobbly and liable to fall off if tugged, so I didn't. But wish I had now.

View from the top

Also, as an apology for the post delay, a fluffy D20 dice, requested by Doug. I had more pictures to show the size etc but either I am looking in the wrong place or they have been sacrificied to the pixel god in the sky. I did point out to Doug that a plush D20 would be nothing other than a round ball but he didn't seem to mind. I don't think he is planning to play with it

Keyfob Friday - dog

I made two little keyrings for this week but one of them needs improving, so here's a little spotty puppy for you.

Too many puppies are getting shot in the dark. Too many puuuuppies

He has a spot over his eye and one brown ear. Woof.

Keyfob Friday - squirrel

Find yourself mourning the end of Friday fiction? If so, I bring you felt fob Friday!

Having given so many keyrings away, the banister of my stairs (to either end of which a length of string is tied for the hanging of keyrings) is looking ... rather like a boring banister, so I thought I'd better make some more.

This little chap is a tiny squirrel, just shy of 7cm tall.

Some sewn animals for my 100th post

Believe it or not, I actually bought a pattern for this little fella - I never buy patterns usually but the finished results looked so good. And I wouldn't like to say anything negative about the shop because the lady seemed sweet, but I can't help but thinking his bum is too small, ears too big...

...and the claim that he is life-sized is... intriguing.

I originally wanted to make a fake guinea pig so that I could dress it up, deeming that to be less sad than making clothes to dress up my real pigs in. Jury is still out on the relative sadnesses.

Nevertheless - had to be done...

A giant fake guinea pig dressed as a bee.

And then there's this little penguin

And finally this wire armature dragon. It looks really bad in the photos because I am not very good at taking pictures of small painted things. In real life it is still pretty flawed but in different ways. Which is annoying.
His arms and legs are wired and thus posable, as are the wings.

A couple of keyrings for transport

I made a little bike for Peter as a housewarming. Fun fact, this was about the 5th attempt at making this on account of the fact that apparently I don't really know what a bike looks like. In the end I took a photo of a painted bike on the cycleway.

Andy asked me to make a camper van and after many aborted attempts I made something that was a bit like a misshapen cousin of a camper van. Apparently transport keyrings simply stump me. Anyway, I have since made this feltie (rather than a plush, in other words more 2d than 3d) which is ... better than before.

Portal tissues, minion and hamster keyrings and some whimsical frippery of the most fripperous order

A Portal companion cube tissue box cover.
For no tissue, toilet paper or general absorbancy-related product in my house shall be on show

I will hold my hands up to being a bit slap dash when it comes to sewing, edges meet up 'close enough' and the concerpt of seam allowance is alien to me. But to make sure I got this totally square and neat I measured everything and even used large numbers of pins. Little bit proud.

A cute little hamster. Just because

This little fella didn't work out right. I need to make the yellow part larger. I don't have much yellow fleece left (but plenty for this) so I was scrimping - talk about your false economies!

Sometimes, I just like to make fig leaves. Actually, this was a request, and there was sort-of logic behind it. I've spent a lot of time trying to work out which angle the fig should be at after someone said it should be stalk pointing upwards (no giggling at the back) but there appears to be no strong leaning towards that in art.

Dang I should dust my mirror.

On the under side.
